HELLO

Hi, that’s me — Jessica Sebok.

Taking on the challenge of capturing someone’s spirit on paper or canvas is my one of my absolute favorite things to attempt. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve been trying to draw faces and my efforts to capture the people around me turned into my business and my life passion.

I graduated from Millikin University with a BFA in Studio Art, focusing on drawing and painting in 2015. That year I started taking commissions and each year since my client base has continued to grow- I’ve officially completed over 600 commissions in the last 9 years and I can’t wait to see where my work and my client’s lead me next!

Recently a bulk of my commissions have been mixed-media collaborations with children! I started collaborating with my son Thatch and our idea took off online. My collaborators create bold abstract paintings/drawings for me to work my portrait magic on top of. These pieces are fully inspired and directed by the child and their choice of materials and application. Our abstract collaborative portraits are a reflection of the complex human condition- they’re full of layers, instinctual patterns, unexpected colors, and contradictions.

Recently I’ve been painting live at weddings and I’ve joined a team of amazing artist called Cloud Studio Agency. We travel all over the country and even internationally to capture these big moments with paint! Honored to be a part of this team.

Sometimes the meaning behind a piece is deeply profound and sometimes they reflect a small mundane moment that might have gone unnoticed. Both motivations are equally important for me to capture in my work for commissioners and for myself. I’ve done pet & family portraits, memorial & obituary portraits, figurative scenes, and photo combination portraits to reunite subjects together in a painting in my chaotic colorful style!
